Feeling My Oats

Standard

4th of July! Independence Day for the United States! Free from the British – Yeah! Is it just me, or are they invading us…news shows, entertainment, movies? Are they back? Watch out! In a minute they’ll be President.

It’s a good day. Once again I have victory…I just realized my dearest desire, NOT to have to go out to any barbeque today. To be in. Maybe, I’ll go over to a friend’s to swim, but don’t have to do that either. Let me tell you – it is hot. In Reston, Virginia it is 95 degrees with 55% humidity and it’s oppressive. Dew point 76F…whatever that means. I’ve never known, but dad used to study that stuff to track why he was feeling whichever way.

Am I ‘feeling my oats’ at last after 56 years on this Earth? Yes, I’m feeling even more empowered than I was yesterday. I thought I was already BOLD? But I guess not enough. If I don’t feel like accepting a friend’s request to come over, I can do that. What’s the worst that could happen? Puleeese! And this friend isn’t even like that…I think.

It’s my baby sister’s birthday. Yep! She’s a firecracker. The baby girl is 49! I know, right? When that happens you really hold relationships more dear. People are moving on in years. Time waits for no one. I got to talk to the baby girl today, which was nice and rare. She’s always busy at work or having some kind of fun:) But we got to chit chat a little this time. I love her. What a sweetheart and a character. She’s not boring and very funny. I wish for her blessings and  revelation from the King of Kings into the supernatural mysteries of God, so that she has an awesome life of luxury and joy. Her humor should be used to bring people into the life God ordained for them.

I love the Lord. Yesterday I blogged on this blog, but I meant to blog on my other blog, Faith Journey Now! I couldn’t believe I made that mistake. The ladies in the PATH class gasped in horror. But oh well, “my steps are ordered by the Lord” & “my times are in His Hands”. This must be where He wanted me to say what I said. I’m following Him on this one too.

Here’s what got me, so many of you liked the post and subscribed to this blog. I was in shock. The Holy Spirit said, don’t you think you’re interesting. No, I really don’t. But thank you all for your interest.

O.K. I’m moving on with my wonderful day.

Another day gone

Standard

It just dawned on me, I should be blogging here. So many God-things are happening and I’m blogging at YouTube – http://www.youtube.com/user/cdurodola?feature=mhee – but I love to write also.

Look, I’m finding myself standing up for myself more and not letting people who think they know more lord themselves over me. So I feel stronger. I’ve been going though a PATH (Post Abortion Trauma Healing) for six weeks, so I’ve been grieving (in my own way) and now I feel stronger.  O.K. so I’ve said it. I’ve been in post abortion trauma classes. And it’s been good. I have never heard of such a thing. Anybody else?

Apparently, I needed more than the healing I got from it years ago when I received God’s forgiveness. But there are some actions you continue in that come from having had abortions in your past. Well, if you’re like me and you’ve never heard of this, it’s worth looking into. You don’t just walk away from medical procedures unscathed.

Oops! I think the time on this post is wrong. It says 2:14:27 a.m. and it’s really 10:15 p.m.  My learning curve on WordPress is so long and yet I think it might be better than Blogger.

Today was one of quiet. The Holy Spirit really wanted me still. He said in stillness in His Presence will I get strength. So if you’re striving in anyway – rest and relax. Our Father in Heaven wants us to relax so badly. He sees us striving down here and He groans, “why can’t they rely on Me”. I know some of you are thinking, “how can I relax in this situation that I’m in”.

The Lord longs for you to relax. The God of this Universe, longs for you to relax. He has the Holy Spirit on hand to show you how to relax even in the situation you’re in. Bless you. It’s nightie night for me. Sleep tight.

The Children’s Writer

Standard

Are you are children’s writer? What are some of the frustrations you going through? We are a different kinda group. I can’t help but think that we’re a little gooky. We live in a world that is different from our adult world. So in a way we live in a fantasy, whether we are are writing about goslings or children with disabilities.

Some of us never smile and people crack up laughing when we say “I’m a children’s writer”, others of us wear huge tall African head ties or elaborate fabrics; still others of us wear costumes like my friend on http://www.JacketFlap.com, Glee.

Here’s one of the crazy things we are apt to do. Write a children’s book and then sell it for Free! Yes, I did! Here it is – “Tunde, the Little Nigerian Prince and the Soldier Ants” and you can contact me to get your downloadable e-book. It’s the second in the Tunde series of books for children ages 4-8. In this story Tunde gets into trouble with some ants when his mother sends him on an errand. They are not just any ants though, they are soldier ants and they bite hard! Check out http://www.KidsStoriesOnline.com where it is also downloadable. Thank you Karen for putting me out there!!!
